Communities/Small Groups/Departments
There is power in bringing community members together to interact on common issues. Beacon System's powerful collaboration tools include the ability to create threaded discussions on questions or issues. You can create these groups for any purpose and specifically determine who is allowed to participate in each discussion. All members are identified by their name, not some cryptic code. This allows an important level of accountability so all members can evaluate and respond to each member's entry.
Group Profiling
When communities or departments are established in the system, you have the option of providing several elements that are related to them in order to allow the search engine to locate a particular community.
Connection/Assimiliation Management
Part of keeping a group connected is by providing powerful contact management capabilities. With Beacon Systems, you have the ability to schedule, follow up or set different statuses on any member you have added to a group, class, meeting or event. Notification settings determine when you are alerted that some action needs to be completed by you.
Content Management
Beacon Systems' portal capability allows the posting of documents, bookmarks, Internet links, testing and training material. Administrators and members can fine tune access rights to specifically indicate who can access, view, download or print content.
Event and Staff Calendar
Beacon Systems provides two very flexible calendars. One is for members and includes events where there are four views: a public view from outside the portal for all members, a public view inside the portal for all members, a private view for only your organization, a restricted view for a group of members. All entries include directions and maps with the ability to contact other members and the coordinator or leader of the event. The other calendar is the staff calender, which keeps track of staff in and out of the office.
Member Directory
An online directory of your organization with an opt in or out feature. Support is provided for member pictures, contact information and any element from the member profile for search or background information.
Event/Class/Meeting Scheduling and Registration and Support
This allows people to be invited or register for events. It has built-in intelligence to know when capacity has been reached, and can manage waiting lists. Event support allows you to set requirements and restrictions, collect fees, schedule rooms, allocate inventory, schedule catering and more.
Notification Tools
Notification tools are automatic and available in several areas of the system for different functions. Different notifications and reminders can be set to multiple locations (e.g. home or work PC, PDA, cell phone or any device that has an email address).
Search Engine
Beacon Systems includes a powerful, customizable search engine to help members find people, communities, rooms and content within the system. This engine is customized to meet your needs to address any element in the profile or to search content for phrases or words.
Library/Knowledge Base
The Library capability allows you to centralize material that is useful to your community (e.g. best practices, policies, reference and training material). You can upload virtually any type of file or document into the library and it can be set for public, private or restricted download, printing or viewing.
Training/Teacher Tools and Aids
Beacon Systems provides a powerful learning module that allows you to deliver training and teaching content to your community. In addition, we provide tools to assess learning, including automatic scoring, tracking time, and tracking scores in the member profile.
Audio and Visual Support
Any file loaded into the portal can be in audio or video format for playback or downloading.
Resource Center/eCommerce
Beacon Systems provides tools for creating an electronic catalog and storefront. You can place descriptions of your material in the resource center for distribution for sale (or for free). The eCommerce engine is used in the resource center and can be used to collect fees for events. Our eCommerce engine supports all major credit or debit cards as well as check transaction. It also includes a shipping matrix to automatically calculate UPS/Fed Ex fees.
Message Center/Email/Newsletter Support
The message center is email and a messaging system internal to the portal. This can be used by everyone including those who do or do not currently have email and will support emailing of newsletters or material to selected groups or all of your members.
Profile and Demographics
Underlying the system is a customizable profile for each member of your organization. The content of the profile is up to you. You define the information that you want to know about a member or organization. This information is the basis for the database that is created for your organization. All of the information elements become searchable to produce a multitude of management views or reports.
Polling and Surveys
Polling and survey support for selected groups; all members or to anyone who visits your web site. Polls and surveys can be scheduled by a time frame or numbers of respondents. All results are available for real time viewing and the information is captured into the database for analysis.
ePublication
We provide the ability to send your newsletter, announcements, bulletins, or any other document through our ePublication scheduler. Save thousands in mailings with professional ePubs.
eGiving/Contribution Support
Use our interface for contributions and donations of online cash, check or credit cards with full security. Member records are updated and viewable at anytime.
eTicketing
Our eTicketing system is designed to provide a best practices solution for seat allocation within your facility. Tickets can be free or purchased online.
